The Slater 3 Piece Arch Traction Pad uses a new type of flexible, high performance foam made from algae biomass harvested from freshwater sources around the world. The new, patented manufacturing process makes the pad durable, provides better cushioning and is lighter than normal foams.

This 3-piece was specially adapted to Kelly Slater’s wishes. The cut-outs in the rear third of the pad are intended for narrow angles from the bottom. Circular and parallel cutaways in the first two thirds are placed further forward for pumping with the foot.

The Bloom Foam process
It helps improve water quality by removing excess algae that harm plants, animals and people that depend on the ecosystem for survival and returns fresh water to the habitat.
It also helps bind CO2.
Firewire literally scrape the sludge from ponds, dry it in the sun and pulverise it before foaming the material to create a cushion that helps rebalance the natural ecology and reduce our dependence on non-renewable oil.
