The Project X has always been a very special Jones snowboard and this has only been confirmed after the update two seasons ago. A new shape and the new Fusion Carbon construction give the board that little bit extra. Of course, only high-end materials will continue to be used for a snowboarding experience that is second to none. This year’s update includes the new Koroyd material. The lightest material in the core construction at Jones with incredibly good damping properties. Space technology for your snowboard. The Project X also comes with 2 carbon layers for incredible pop and the Float Pack Inserts for the deepest days.
Riding style
Ride it all – with this all-mountain weapon you can charge all over the mountain.
Shape
The Project X comes with a new tapered directional shape this season that makes high speeds super easy and offers you good uplift. A directional shape is the classic, most versatile snowboard shape. The pop is concentrated in the tail and provides ample float and control in all terrain and snow conditions. Taper means a narrower tail than nose, this provides more floatation in deep snow. Thanks to the blunt nose, you can look forward to less snow being carried backwards over the sides of the nose. This gives you all the advantages of a traditional nose and also saves weight. Traction Tech 3.0, the corrugated edge, ensures the best edge hold in all conditions. At the ends of the progressive waist, the radius is gradually increased until the edges reach the contact points. Gradually increase the radius towards the contact point for a smoother turn initiation. This waist thereby offers a less abrupt transition into the snow.
Profile
The Directional Rocker consists of a camber between the legs and a larger rocker at the nose than at the tail. This keeps the board extremely manoeuvrable in pow and gives it additional buoyancy. The camber offers you good edge hold and fast power transmission. The slightly rockered tail increases power transmission and stability.
The 3D Base Contour 3.0 comes with a balanced bend-up of 7 mm in nose and tail. The bending up of the base starts at the rocker.
Flex
The medium stiff flex (7/10) ensures fast feedback from the board and direct power transmission of your movements.
Construction
The Jones Ultra construction eliminates all unnecessary materials. In combination with the super light wood core and carbon stringers you get one of the most stable and lightest boards on the market. The new FSC™ Fusion Core is the lightest core yet. The core is made of paulownia with poplar wood in selected areas for longer durability and more response. Fusion Carbon technology, used exclusively on very special Jones Premium boards, involves fusing multiple layers of carbon fibres to the core using epoxy. This makes the board extremely light and durable. In addition to this, Project X uses Koroyd. An incredibly light core material with the best cushioning properties.
Fibreglass reinforcements provide more pop in the nose and tail and a more durable flex. With these reinforcements, your board will deliver the same performance after 100 days on the mountain as it did on day one.
Bio Resin is plant-based and is used instead of petroleum-based epoxy. The sintered Ultra Base is the best base in the Jones repertoire. The ECO-Plastic Topsheet is made from environmentally friendly castor seeds.
The new Float Pack Inserts allow you a decent setback for the really deep days.
The Project X comes manufactured with thin recycled steel edges for added durability and improved sustainable production. The rubber for cushioning the edges and the ABS in the sidewalls is made from 100 % recycled material. All Jones boards are ‘ready to shred’ and are waxed with natural Wend wax at the factory.
