This update brings the great advantage that the surfboard works in a wider range of waves and you can surf it 1″ shorter than the previous model. 
Firewire has packed more volume into a shorter length and pulled the tail in a little more. So it works in strong, powerful waves as well as in weaker, less powerful ones.

The Sci-Fi 2.0 loves powerful waves that bring power, but also works in medium waves on less powerful days.
