Paul van Doren and three of his business partners founded a brand called Vans in 1966. It didn’t take long until skateboarders recognized and fell in love with the quality and functionality of their shoes. The iconic checkerboard pattern of the Deppster II Web Belt also stands for Vans and skate culture alike.
