Kånken is an iconic backpack developed by Fjällräven in 1978 to spare the backs of school children in Sweden. Back problems had begun to appear especially in younger age groups due to the increase use of shoulder bags. Kinked was kept simple and stylish and was soon seen in most school and pre-schools around the country. Almost every child growing up in the 80s had a Kånken backpack, either new or handed down from their parents.
An everyday companion with the same iconic design as the original, but reinvented from a recyclable perspective which helps to save natural resources.
Kånken has a large main zippered compartment, making it easy to pack and unpack. It comes with a seat pack stored inside the backpack to stop contents of the backpack from pressing against the back, as well as serving as a seat cushion whenever needed. Perfect for school, university, work, hiking, biking… anything you want!
